Happy Cog is looking for a full-time Communications Manager in the NYC area to join our team immediately. We’re a growing interactive agency of 55+ people in Manhattan's NoMad neighborhood with great clients (like Google, Airbnb, &pizza, Gettysburg College, Etsy, The Associated Press, MTV, New York City, St. Regis, Lagunitas, and Columbia University) and an incredible roadmap.

This is an exciting time for our agency. After Vector Media Group acquired Happy Cog late last year and successfully merged our teams, we have decided to take on the Happy Cog name going forward.   • Responsible for all forms of outbound news coming from the agency, including press releases and blog posts on, the Cognition blog, and partner publications.
  • Assist in effectively and completely unifying our company under a single name and brand, working closely with our President of Design and Branding through the process.
  • Work with our in-house creative teams, digital marketing teams and/or outside vendors to create engaging video, copy, and photography assets to promote the agency.
  • Work directly with senior executives to develop strategic industry communications.
  • Develop in-house guidelines and a communications plan for all outbound marketing efforts.
  • Manage and grow the company's social media presence on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Build relationships with external contacts to ensure we are maximizing all opportunities to promote our work.
  • Communicate with conference organizers in an effort to secure speaking engagements for agency team members.
  • Enter Happy Cog into consideration for industry awards, discovering new opportunities and owning the application process.


  • Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in marketing or communications at an agency, or in-house at a technology or SaaS company is preferred.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, able to succinctly communicate complex ideas into a digestible form.
  • Experience in documenting and archiving digital (and print) projects
